Captured the theme relatively well. I like the quotes too.
Actually, it is very, very close, a tributary, and I never realized it until now–our springs and creeks run to my friend’s property and contribute to her glorious enjoyment. What fun to think it!
And I — I go to the ocean through yours. What a trade! ๐
Thanks for this comment, Debby! Hope you are enjoying the icy waters of our little creek as much as I would a long soak in The Gulf! ๐
Hey, Kate! Thanks for the compliment! Just today I thought of hiking through all my neighbors’ properties and following this tiny stream to its full, rushing culmination at my friend’s back acreage. Such overgrowth here, though, it would take a whole day. And a machete and briar britches. Ha.
I used to live close enough to the Mississippi to see it occasionally. Big. I love the bluffs, such as the one on which they built Vicksburg. Shows how different the land can become after a bit of erosion.
Yes, heartbeat.
Though for a few days we’re at the Gulf in TX, we usually are water poor and a long ways from anything moving. I love this picture. Reminds me of the Midwest. Thanks for the shot.
How I would love to meet you at the Gulf in Texas! We have often made that our January vacation, but this year has been too tied to obligations: church, doctors, logging, etc. This really is doable, though, in my mind, since we usually go there every year.
Anyway, glad you liked the water. Come back and look at it any time you want. ๐
It is very cold and clear.

Thanks, LT, and welcome to Home’s Cool! I love when I can find an old quote from literature or history to help the illustration along. ๐
I recognize this. Still part of this river is sitting on my art table!!!

I live the seasons through your pictures. Not a bad way at all. ๐

Gorgeous Katharine….the rivers have such a heartbeat, don’t they? I spent many of my growing-up years living next to the Mississippi River.

Great photo, nice to amble beside this stream..;)
Oh, yes, Cobbies, if you don’t trip! It’s a bit cold for me. ๐
Thanks for this comment! Come on by and amble any time. ๐
I love the colours in your photo.
So many have responded in the same way, so I guess it is nearly unanimous. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a kind comment!
