Weekly Photo Challenge: Friendship

Are you friends with your relatives? This grandfather is friends with all his teen grandsons.

Friends
Friends

He has brought them several hundred miles to his old stompin’ grounds to find the best huntin’ in America. He says.

Did they bag anything?

Nah.

Except closer bonds.

Fun memories.

Greater respect for Granddad.

Experience in hunter safety.

Wild dreams.

Bellies aching from laughter.

Listening to songs of night creatures.

Back-slappin’ good times.

Not much.

    1. Wow, Bats! That is one of the best comments EVER! 🙂
I did enjoy taking this one. These guys drove two days straight from somewhere up north, and tented in the thickets for a week, to get “nothing”. I met them at this “starving hunter” charity feed our town puts on each year. It’s home-cooked chilli or gumbo, drinks, and dessert, for donations only. Hunters flocked in, last year, as the deer were totally uncooperative and the hunters were totally tired of eating Spam and Vienna sausages! 😉
Folks usually are shocked at our little lunch, here, that anyone would care. It’s fun.

      1. You let them know that I care…seriously this post brought about feelings of happiness, warmth, and togetherness. I am so happy you shared their moment with us. I love Vienna sausages, of course I’d love venison even more. 🙂

        1. I shall try to let them know. I believe they return every year and it would be simple to volunteer at the chilli feed, just to see if they show up. I like that idea a lot! It will be November, but I will let you know! 🙂
I am not fond of processed meats. I like the basics more. Venison. Yep.

  1. Hey, Melis! Glad to see you! Have you landed? Or are you taking a break from vacation? Ha! Glad you saw the beauty in this. Thanks!
I was charmed by it all and felt honored to meet these guys.
