Weekly Photo Challenge: Between

Okay, Folks, I’m Declaring Winter.

I have waited and waited. And I’m not a good waiter. So I said to myself, “The next photo challenge will be winter, if I can possibly make it fit the theme.” I did it. These shots will show between, if I have to rewrite the dictionary.

Daffs Between Winter and Spring

This first one shows daffs waiting to bloom, between winter and spring.

In case you wondered, winter is my favorite season. They say I would change my mind if I lived more northerly, where winter is more constant, but I think some of the people who live with snow all the time still love winter, and I think I would be one of them, if it ever came to that.

  1. Living in the desert, I miss out on all that I typically associate with Winter and, by proxy, most of what used to bring about feelings of coziness. It is a challenge for me and (and this doesn’t make sense to many people) I find myself feeling down because there’s so much SUN here. I miss blustery snow storms and those dark, foreboding snow clouds! Thank you for your photo. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

    1. Jackie! What a delightful surprise! Wow. I do not think I could live where you live without a miracle of grace!!! I do understand about the grayer weathers. I call the sunny stuff “attack weather.” :- ) Thanks for stopping by and for your kind wishes!

  2. Liking winter all year long is a VERY special trait. There are some challenging winters out there. Let me know if you move north!!! HO HO HO xoxoox m

  3. Ho, ho, ho, yourself! You sound like my husband! πŸ˜€
    He is a wise man!
    You are probably right! 😐

Maybe if I got a good dose, just once, I would hush about it. πŸ™‚

    But . . . if I moved north, we’d be closer, wouldn’t we? Hmm . . .

    1. Allergic to winter!! I would die! 😦 So sorry for you, but it explains your traverse o’er the islands? Oh well, thank you for commenting here, Traveler! Hope it doesn’t give you a bad reaction?! πŸ™‚

    2. I can totally relate. I developed the same allergy 3 years ago. I am hoping my thyroid meds help with this reaction this winter. St. Louis had some white fluffy stuff overnight, and it lit up the winter sky, a magical glow.

      1. I think the science behind it has to do with the shape of the water crystal and a reflection of the moon and stars. It is lovely, though, I know. I especially enjoy the daytime sparkle, though, that incomparable hint of blue in the shadows, lit with a gleam no camera can capture. Oh!
So glad you got a bit of fluff!
What would winter be without it!

  4. A very good entry into the challenge! The daffs waiting to bloom, between winter and spring are beautiful. πŸ˜‰
