Oh! Some day we will have chickies! I dream of the day… but it isn’t possible at the moment, so I will live vicariously for the time being!
Thanks, so much, for this comment, and WELCOME to Home’s Cool! π
I love keeping a few chickens around. love home-grown eggs, etc. We have sixteen–how many do you have?
That’s how we have been feeling also. We actually started with 6, but one died as a chick π¦ Now the five are grown and laying eggs. The kids want to get more, and so do my husband and I π
They are so worth all the frustration. I mean, they eat grain and veggie scraps, instead of wasting them, they lay eggs or else make meat, and they yield really good garden fertilizer. What’s not to love? π
Buff Orpington. π Our adult hens have been a joy, so we got more. Lacking a rooster (‘coon attrition) we had to order more. So have the fun of chicks. π

Well, we always have our own REAL chickies under our wings, beautiful and gifts from God, the most important kind. π
Thanks for stopping and commenting. Maybe I’ll post progress reports so you can live more vicariously. π
We have chickens at our house, too! They started laying eggs a couple of months ago. They are so cool π

We have 5, but plan on getting more in the spring π
Five is what we had, but wanted to add a few. They are such fun. People LOVE baby chicks. π

Exactly!!
How gorgeous! I’m warm and fuzzy just looking at them π
They are such darlings, I’ll admit. Ever hold one in your hand? So weak and fragile…
No, never π¦
I am so sorry. Come visit! You can hold mine! π
I will!
Made you a new post, just NOW! Great minds think alike and ALSO are synchronized, suppose? π
Thanks! Going to check it out now – but you knew that, didn’t you? π
What kind are they

I love my Buffs! They just follow me around like a puppy. They actually seem to play at times with my dog. It’s hilarious!
Oooh, I’m so glad your dog is kind.
These new chicks give such promise. They’re healthier than many we’ve had.
