We once lived in a house that had a finished attic and the children loved being up there. In fact, when we viewed the house to buy it, the owners had a small rug and child furniture up there. However, it was accessible only by ladder, so we did not use the space for anything but storage.
I know what you mean, though, and I had plans to finished the space and install stairs, but we had to make a job-related move. 😦
My personal favorite is #16. 🙂
We have been doing school in the back yard the last couple days. That has been fun. I like the idea of doing it in a tent. The kids would be so excited!

My kids loved working their lessons outdoors. I think anything outdoors was their favorite place. But they loved making a tent in their own rooms with blankets held together with clip clothespins, and improvised furniture, so it was actually more like an imaginary house. It took a long time to create, though, and putting it away at bedtime was also a lengthy task, so sometimes they slept there, too, in sleeping bags on the floor.
Kids!
I have found that any change, though, makes for excitement, and in the doldrums that follow Christmas and winter weather, excitement is very necessary.
And after excitement comes little “sprinkles of peace” 😉

Great list! My son loves to make blanket tents and has one made up now in our basement family room. Since our basement is finished and there is a kitchen down there, that’s a favorite spot for my 17-year old daughter. Also, we make good use of our island bar in our upstairs kitchen. It’s just a handy spot and the swivel chairs are fun and comfy to sit in. I agree with your personal favorite. I love window seats.

In a garden! I never home schooled per se, although I suppose all parents home school in some capacity if they are doing their job.
Talya! You get it! You are absolutely right that all parents home school. Even those who do not do their job are teaching some dark thing about how children don’t matter.

Definitely #5 — the front porch! Last week the sun shone and the temperature got up to about 40 degrees. My 9yo begged to read our science text on the porch. I finally gave in, and out we went with coats and blankets.

My Littles’ favorite would be #3–We love to take a blanket and supplies outdoors and enjoy our farm while we learn. In 12 inches of snow right now, though? I don’t even want to Look outside. lol
I’ve heard of having a picnic in the LR, with a blanket on the floor and a beach unbrella, a tub of rice for sand, and all the picnic foods. Oh, and Hawaiian music playing? And maybe add a heat lamp? 😉
