I’ve recently been seen at a site that advances the idea that it’s okay to kill babies because unattached sperm “dies”, unattached ovums “die”, and malformed embryos die. So why not kill babies?
I am so saddened by this. For one thing, I love babies. I could happily work as a babysitter all my life, if I believed in farming babies out. But I don’t.
The thought of killing such an innocent, pretty, thing, just because it is in the way, nauseates me. It’s like bashing in the heads of kittens or defacing priceless works of art for fun, or something, only far worse, because the realization that a baby is a fellow-human intensifies my identification with it.
And if it does not move or sadden you, I challenge your humanity.
I can remember being a baby. It’s not too unusual for someone to remember something from babyhood. My mom and I figure I was probably 3 months old when my dad got a crew cut and all his gorgeous black waves were gone, revealing a pale forehead. My mother says I screamed when I saw him. I don’t remember the screaming, but I do remember the event. I remember I was surrounded with the quilted white satin liner of the bassinet where I lay, and I remember his grinning face appearing over the edge of it, so traumatizing because of being wrong, missing the hair. I remember his reaction to me, his surprise and a sort of hurt look on his face. I would not have known all the details except that I asked my mom about the bassinet and my memories, causing her to recall that day, to remember how they later thought it must have been the haircut that scared me. She filled in many details, but I — I remember it.
Is anything wrong? Are murder and theft wrong?
Of course.
And we need to ask ourselves why. Why is it wrong to kill someone? Why is it wrong to take something that is not ours? Why is it wrong to hate? Why is anything wrong?
We need to figure that out for many reason, but the reason I want to address is this: The stakes are rising. The latest, the new right/wrong that people are beginning to feel comfortable with is the selective attack on women that is permeating the whole world, INCLUDING THE U.S.A. Men and women are stealing, raping, and killing women for the mere reason that they are women, and no other reason.
Are we crazy?
Whether women, just because they are women, are sold, abused, or killed, can we all say, “It is wrong,” without being challenged?

Katherine,
I feel the same way and love babies. When my kids grew up and left home I was devastated and took in every baby animal I could find. I can’t imagine giving up one in any form!!

Thanks for this comment, Rita!
I sometimes say, “I love babies of any age,” meaning that I love all people, no matter the age. It’s amazing how much love there is at our disposal! 🙂
Yes!!!! Yes, I agree with you. Thank you for for speaking out on this. Killing babies is WRONG. I believe there is never a reason to kill a baby. Romans 8:28.
Thanks, Karen!
Yes, killing babies is wrong, but it’s not only babies we are talking about here. All women, due to the squelching of Christianity, are at great risk, these days. From pre-born to geriatric, women are losing the fight for being considered human. We must realize this!
Fifty-seven million killed in the USA, alone, and counting. Fifty-seven million murdered. And that’s just the pre-born. And far, far more of them were female than male, for only the reason that they were female. And I am stupid, at least, if not totally depraved if in a time when we know how to prevent conception, I prefer murder.
However, this article is about post-birth killing of babies and adults who happen to be female, as opposed to male.
No no, if you’re talking about me, it’s not me advocating killing babies. I like babies too! I just don’t think babies are babies till they get to a certain point in their development – which I’d put at around 3 months. But whenever I put this case to a pro-life person, they vehemently disagree. I guess we’ll never agree on what’s right and wrong but maybe we would agree that if killing babies is wrong, then surely so is killing adults.
You may rewrite the dictionary if you want, but this post is about how the stakes are rising, as I clearly stated, so that a woman of (insert your age here) years is also at risk for being aborted, retroactive. Stopping abortion, yes. Babies, neh. Adult women, aborted. Happens.
And in that way, yes, I definitely was talking about you. About preserving you. About preserving your right to exist in spite of the fact that you are female.
It’s about how, as the pro-life people from decades ago so accurately predicted, it is now progressing beyond the womb, to the cradle and the crib and the stroller and the walker and the daycare and the kitchen and the office and the hospital and the nursing home. A proper regard for human life, if not carefully guarded, if lost, knows NO bounds.
People who choose to do capital crimes choose their own end.
That cannot be said for the woman who falls prey to the likes of . . .
Let me put it this way: If the deer population is unhealthy because of overpopulation, as it is because of dinking with natural population dynamics around where I live, officials will up the limits on taking doe, not bucks. Get it?

It’s wrong, but I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better as the world continues to be overpopulated………. seven billion and counting.

Yeh, it’s all about you.
So, so very wrong on so many levels. My heart HURTS.
Hi, Tiff,
You have such a marvelous tender heart. Blessings on you.
