Once a Month Habit

Another WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge

Once a month I take a trip to the big city to visit my eye doctor. He’s an expert at helping people keep their eyesight, and he knows one important factor in his job is to check my blood pressure.

After my visit, I make another visit, this time to my favorite eatery, Julie’s Deli.

And if my blood pressure tested really good, I reward myself there, with coffee and dessert.

Today, I had pecan pie.

Because the cheesecake was all gone.

    1. Thanks, Island Traveler, for this comment, and WELCOME to Home’s Cool! 🙂
What’s great about this treat is that I behave, dietarily speaking, all month long, for this one splurge!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comment! I almost always miss the cheesecake because they say, “We make one every Monday and when it’s gone, it’s gone.” 😐
Of course, there was tiramisu…but it was a cloudy day…oh well…:)

    1. Oh, so do I! And yesterday, while I was there, a very little girl came with her parents to eat and kept saying there was a kitty in the mural. We could not find it, but her daddy said if she said it, then it was so. 🙂
I think she saw the dead rabbit hanging by one leg, thinking it was a cat?

                1. When I work hard to keep it low, then I do not. Otherwise it spikes from time to time, which really makes the doctors nervous. So I try to be good. 🙂
And I find it all confusing, too.

      It’s a great place:
      1. Immaculately clean.
      2. Real food.
      3. Not bad coffee.
      4. All made on premises.
      5. Lotsa parking.
      6. Cheesecake!

They said they’d save me a piece next month if I remind them? It’s worth it to me!
